How NOT to install #4

Hi guys…

Yet another How NOT to post. This one comes from a large steel supplier in the northern parts of Johannesburg.

From the start it is very obvious that very little attention was paid to neatness. The wiring is spanned between supports for the overhead crane, without any support or conduit.

The cables that was actually put into conduit was run right next to high voltage, high current power cables powering the cranes and workshop equipment, causing a big problem with interference visible on the camera images. Also, the conduit was not join together at all, or properly fixed to any structure.

The rest of the photos show some more poor workmanship. Extra cabling just tied together next to the camera, exposed connectors on the outside of the building, wiring just pushed through a vent brick. Probably the worst part was the use of trunking as far as the eye can see, and no further… It obviously never occurred to the installer that cable meant for indoor use will be damaged if not protected from the elements, especially if pulled across the roof of a building.
